Tyler, the Creator – Don’t Tap The Glass
MADE FOR BODY MOVEMENT.
FULL VOLUME.
That’s how Tyler, the Creator introduces his ninth studio album Don’t Tap The Glass — and honestly, there’s no better way to sum it up.
We're still riding high on Brat Summer, because let’s be real: 2025 hasn’t delivered many proper contenders. But it looks like we’ve got one now.
Tyler hasn’t missed since Flower Boy, and he clearly has no plans to start. Don’t Tap The Glass stands apart from his most recent works — the impeccable Call Me If You Get Lost and the more grounded yet still excellent Chromakopia. This one? It's something else entirely.
It’s fun. Absolutely fun.
Tyler leans into all his strengths to deliver a summer-heavy, colorful, and undeniably bouncy record. He plays, he jokes, he throws in those signature unpredictable musical detours — and he doesn’t care about making some grand statement. When you’ve already proved everything, making a record like this becomes an act of joy, a reconnection — both with yourself and your audience. And if it comes from the right place and for the right reasons, we hear it — and we accept it with everything we’ve got.
Tracks like “Sucka Free,” “Don’t Tap That Glass / Tweakin,” “Ring Ring Ring,” and “I’ll Take Care of You” showcase just how sharp Tyler’s production instincts are. His flow, as usual, comes in strong — playful, confident, and unafraid to be a little goofy. The beats? Lush and effective. They hit exactly where they need to. The sound can throw you back to the vibey 2000s or the extravagance of the 2010s, and the journey works because, at its core, there’s stellar production — and an artist so deeply in love with making music that you can feel it in every bar.
Don’t Tap The Glass isn’t a polished-to-perfection type of record. It can get repetitive. But in the broader context of his discography, it absolutely stands out. I can already imagine some people calling this Tyler’s GNX, and honestly, that’s no insult — considering what GNX has become. They have different missions, but one thing’s for sure: they deliver.
So yeah — don’t tap the glass. Kick it the fuck out while banging this record at full volume.
