Tame Impala – End Of Summer

Tame Impala End Of Summer Single Cover / Review Showbiz By PS

It feels like summer is starting a month late this year—or maybe artists just missed the memo.

First, Tyler, the Creator drops his vibrant, dancefloor-ready summer record, and now Kevin Parker aka Tame Impala emerges with his first solo single in five years. You don’t even need to explain the concept—it's all in the title: "End Of Summer".

Even though the end of summer is still far away, you already want to listen to this track. It’s got nostalgia for a summer that’s yet to become the past.

Kevin Parker moves forward and introduces a new sound for himself. If you've been following his work—both solo and through collaborations—you’ll know he’s been steadily gravitating toward dance music. For some, this shift might come as a surprise or even a disappointment (this isn’t Currents or The Slow Rush—not even close). But for him, it feels like a natural next step.

"End Of Summer" is the definition of a house/EDM track—smooth, clean, and confidently produced. And it’s 7 minutes long… well, that’s Tame Impala for you. It’s not a song that shocks you with a mind-blowing drop or a sticky, radio-ready hook. Instead, it delivers a well-mixed, vibey experience that feels like it was made more to be felt than analyzed. The signature Parker touch is there—the atmosphere, the care in production, the unmistakable finesse.

This track will definitely be spinning in techno clubs, but unlike his earlier material, it’s not something likely to live permanently in your headphones. Still, Kevin does what he wants, and the recent Sony Music Publishing deal covering all his past and future work seems to give him even more room to be creatively free.

Let’s just hope the album doesn’t drop in the middle of winter, or the party mood might not survive the snow.

7.8/10
